This is the camera I would love love love to own someday. Been thinking about it lately after finding myself really kind of burned out on photography, but I think something like this might just put some spark back in me. Who knows. Nonetheless, it's a beautiful piece of equipment.

OK, I came across the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 'Definitive 200' list of, duh, the top 200 albums of all time. In glancing through it, I'm guessing it's based mostly (which, by that I mean, completely) on album sales. No sight of any actually really good but not 'mainstream' albums by numerous bands from around the world.

Oh well. Mainstream always sucked.

(with the one exception of Radiohead's OK Computer, although I noticed The Bends was missing which, in the minds of quite a few, is actually a superior album - but didn't fare as good at the record store ... )

So I'm preparing for my first flight since the whole liquid debacle blew up (OK, maybe I shouldn't use that phrase) whenever it was. Sorry, my apathy is just going to come rolling off my fingers onto the keyboard with this spiel. Well, just doing my due-diligence and checking out to see if it's OK to bring, you know, the usual travel fare - things like toothpaste, my contact lens solution, plastique explosive, etc.

As it turns out, it looks like toothpaste and lens cleaner are allowable so long as I don't bring enough to actually be able to use while on my trip. Handy. And, actually somewhat surprisingly, plastique is not allowed in my carry-on or my checked baggage (well, I actually never check baggage but I'll actually have to since I'm hauling a Pelican case full of my photography equipment on this gig - so I shouldn't say never).

In any regards, I got a kick out of the following list I found on the TSA's website. Ah, good stuff. Now I really know I'm travelling safe since no one is allowed to bring their throwing stars or nunchakus on board. And, as a final thought ... just what are nunchakus anyways ...

So I've got about the sweetest monitor setup a color geek could hope for. Dualies. On the left, an Eizo CG211, and on the right, a LaCie 321. Both are just flippin' awesome. After working so long on a crappy Apple Cinema Display, the Eizo and the LaCie (two high-end, SWOP-certified color-managed models) are a sight for sore eyes, so to speak.

Just gorgeous.

I'm more or less in heaven sitting in my dark cave all day now.
