05/30/2006 10:47pmA pic I came across on this guy's site of Eldorado Peak in the North Cascades - the classic "knife-edge" ridge up to the summit. I look forward to hopefully climbing this peak next month ... but quite a brilliant shot. Check out his site for some very cool mountaineering info and pics.
05/30/2006 10:38pmI got an e-mail from Jesus today! And he's here to tell me all about the Canadian online prescription store and how I can get all my pharmacy needs there, no doubt. Um, I'm not going to open it up. But I think the Mail.app on my Mac is now cursed and will be going straight to hell because it thought this divine message was junk!
05/26/2006 11:57pm05/20/2006 12:09amI just love TicketMaster - I went to buy tickets for next month's Melissa Etheridge concert at the Paramount theatre in Seattle. And let's see - after all the "convenience" charges the ticket ended up costing about 30% more! Now why didn't I decide on the overnight delivery of my tickets, which would have cost something like an absurdly additional $30 or something ... 05/19/2006 11:56pmDoing my part by blogging the MoveOn.org website that features the short QuickTime video of Moby campaigning to save internet freedom and neutrality and to keep it from being "corporatized" - OK, that's my word. If you haven't done so already, please sign the petition and call your senators and representative in Congress (the website provides the phone numbers). 05/19/2006 11:51pmMy sister Kathy sent me a copy of "Sunbeams" - collected quotes featured monthly in The Sun. These were from December 2005 and all pertained to the environment. One I found fitting was from Ansel Adams, who said It is horrifying that we have to fight our government to save the environment. Indeed. 05/19/2006 11:45pmSo I said last month I was going to track the monitor profiles of my 2-year old Apple Studio 17-inch display (acrylic) and the 20-inch Apple Cinema display (aluminum) I use at work. I just validated where my Studio display is at after more than a month since last calibrating it - I last calibrated on 4/9/06 and since then - a period of 40 days - it changed 0.88 delta-E (as evidence in the screen capture below). OK - so I just recalibrated today, and I also calibrated my Cinema display at work today - so we're off and running. I will start from each calibration made today and in one month or so see where they're at. My bid is on the older Studio display - it has held luminance and calibration extremely well over the year and a half that I have had it.
05/08/2006 11:01pmOh, this is too rich to pass up - my dear brother (dork on right with glasses) at his confirmation, circa 1987. And yes - I fully expect retaliation in kind.
